Fighting poverty and ending violence is their main aim so that women are able to have a better future ahead of them. As well as providing a safe environment for women, they also work for freedom from all sorts of oppression, achieve social justice, gender equality by working with communities.  The purpose that is being conveyed to the audience is that there are many girls, in this case Kenya, that suffer from all different kinds of sexual abuse wherever they go. From the moment that they are born they already start to experience many forms of violence as well as sexual violence.  What are the main differences between Hall and Perkins' theories? Hall believes that stereotyping is used to assert power while Perkins' theory is that some stereotypes are not always negative and that some can be positive and uplifting Perkins' says that stereotypes can be seen in one's group while Hall thinks that the one in power or someone in a different "group" stereotypes another group What are the advantages/disadvantages of each theory? Explore how  gender  is  represented   in at least two examples from the media ( TV, magazines , music videos , games, film, TV advertising etc) . You  should include both  print and audiovisual e xamples. Throughout the years, both genders have faced hardcore stereotypes that have been adapted through media texts; print based such as newspapers or magazines but also in audiovisual examples such as movies and commercials. Most typically, in the media there are 2 ways of portraying a women; one is as a sex symbol and many people would see them as an object and use degrading words to describe them. However, another perspective that women are viewed as is a housewife that enjoys doing simple house chores and take care of their children while their husbands go out and do the hard labour work.
