Ownership and Franchise Ubisoft Entertainment, a French video-game company, published the Assassins Creed which is an open world action adventure stealth video franchise created by Partice Desilet, Jade Raymond and Corey May. Analyse the representation of gender in "the man" and "riptide"

Analyse the representation of gender in 'the man' and 'riptide' (800 words) In both music videos of "The Man'' by Taylor Swift and "Riptide" by Vance Joy, they both explore the theme of gender and have a similar way of representing the stereotypes that are involved. In riptide, there is a camera shot of a woman facing away from the camera whilst undressing; this indicates that she was unaware that she was being recorded which suggests that women are vulnerable and can easily be manipulated. In addition, this not only depicts women as weak and fragile, but it also sexualises them as recording a woman undressing and showing a lot of skin without their consent views them as objects where society (mostly men) are able to degrade and dehumanise them. This gives a metaphor that the man in this scenario is the predator while the woman is seen as the prey. Similarly, the ideology of women being objectified by men is also shown in the "The Man'...

Riptide Music Video

Analyse the music video of Riptide Vance Joy focusing on the following elements. Refer to contextual information and technical codes to support your points.  Vance Joy explores different types of representation in his music video of Riptide. Firstly, the actual song is based off of the indie genre; indie is short for the word independent as back in the day indie was usually written by people outside the mainstream media for example pop music. Indie is mainly ukulele or guitar based and is seen as quirky and an alternative which feeds onto the stereotype that authenticity is significant. Since the music video is shot in little parts and has a complicated narrative, there are some parts of the music video which shows hints of the indie genre, for example in the beginning it shows an iconography of VHS tapes which immediately indicates that this is from the indie genre as VHS tapes were used back in the day however not many people use it nowadays which can be classified as an alternat...

KEY TEXT: Dizzee Rascal Dream Music Video

Analyse the content of the music video for Dream, using technical codes and the narrative of the video. Dizzee Rascal has portrayed his narrative and his point of the music video and a very clever and sophisticated way. Overall, the autobiographical music and lyrics itself is about his rise to success and his own personal journey; however, the very last verse is a direct address to the audience (the younger generation) as it subverts to him, who is someone in a position of success, inspiring them to make the most of what they can and believe in themselves. This is altered in the visual elements of the video; lighting, colour, camera framing and more. The use of props plays a big role when highlighting the message of the video as it begins with pastel and soft colours of baby pinks, baby blues and yellows which is viewed as playful and joyful aura that suggests that the narrative would be optimistic and upbeat. During the music video, there was an iconography of puppets which also feeds...

WaterAid Advert Essay

How is the UK presented in this advert? Generally in advertisements regrading an inequality in resources such as water, the UK is usually presented as the stereotypical developed country where they are able to have access to the essentials such as food, water, a home and more. In this Water Aid advert, it begins with a close up shot of a window sill, the weather being rainy and damp which pinpoints the stereotype that the UK weather is always rainy. Contrastingly, the next shot is a scene of a girl walking on a dry pathway somewhere in Africa, holding a large bucket which the audience can immediately depict that she is travelling to get a bucket of water; the weather is seen as humid and dry which highlights that it is unusual for it to be raining in Africa. Moreover, in the first clip you can see that the rain is disregarded by everyone and that everyone stays inside which further suggests that the iconography of rain and water in the UK is not that precious unlike in Africa where chi...
