Summarise key points about s1e1 of Life on Mars: Genre: When watching the first episode of the first season of Life on Mars, I immediately knew that it was part of the crime genre due to the scenery it was set in and the upbeat music in the background. However, Life on Mars can be argued to be part of the sci-fi genre due to the fact that the main character (Sam Taylor) is seen to have travelled back 30 years to 1973 when, in the beginning, he states he that it was the year 2006.
